Master Instruments Pty Ltd (Incorporating Siomar Battery Engineering) has a Perth based facility in Wangara, Western Australia and has customers throughout the world.

The company is able to design, supply and manufacture a complete range of Lithium, Lead-Acid, Nickel Cadmium, Nickel Metal Hydride, Alkaline and almost every other kind of commercially available battery. Both primary and Rechargeable.

Other capabilities extend to the design and manufacture of battery chargers and electronic battery management. Testing batteries and chargers to UN, IATA and numerous other international standards is within our realms of expertise.

We consult and supply industrial DC power solutions and stock & distribute over 6,000 lines of battery & assciciated portable power products from the world's leading battery makers.

Our technical sales, management, engineering, CAD drafting, testing and some production staff are located at the Wangara facility. Larger scale manufacturing, engineering and testing is done in Sydney, Melbourne & Taiwan at ISO9001:2008 accredited facilities.

We are long term distributors for Sanyo, Panasonic, FDK/Fujitsu, Electrochem, Energizer, Duracell, Enersys, Ultralife, Varta, Renata, Cadex, Vencon, Xtar and other well known brands. In addition the company makes its own brand of maintenance free lead acid batteries known as “Drypower”. It also represents world leading industrial battery and DC power specialists such as HBL and KOBE.

Expertise and experience covers the complete market spectrum from the design of battery packs for small hand held devices to the DC power systems of trains, mine sites and hospital operating theatres.

In 2012 the businesses known as Siomar Battery Engineering and Siomar Battery Industries (Siomar) were acquired by Master Instruments Pty Limited (MI).

In the year that Master Instruments Pty Ltd celebrated its 70th anniversary and Siomar Battery Engineering its 30th, together these two entities bring to the market over 100 years of service excellence in batteries, battery packs, charging, DC power solutions and test, measurement & control equipment.

Siomar Managing Director Mark Beamish knew MI were the natural acquirers of this business and it was important to the Siomar Board of Directors that something they have nurtured through thick and thin over 30 years will continue with another family owned business that knows and appreciates its value.

The mutual respect for decades in a competitive market now culminates into unlimited opportunities to the businesses post integration. Mark Beamish is now MI's WA State Manager and heads up the company's industrial & OEM battery departments. He and his team of battery engineering experts are keen to show the market what they can now accomplish in both the local and export markets.
